WHY TELECINE WHEN YOU CAN GET A FULL SCAN OF YOUR FILM?

Filmmakers perform a process called telecine to their film so they can have a digitized form of the images for ingestion into a non-linear editing (NLE) system. There are enormous creative freedom and possibilities with NLE and almost all films are now edited this way. The traditional editing by cutting film celluloid with a razor blade has become a reminisce of filmmaking.

ABOUT "THE DIRECTOR" MOTION FILM SCANNER

The Director is a 2K film scanner capable of scanning 35mm in 4:3, 16:9 and 1.85 aspect ratios. It employs an ultra stable and high intensity RGB LEDs in an integrating sphere arrangement, directing the light into a CCD sensor optimized for 2K full aperture. It generates pin-registered scans of 35mm (negative, intermediate, color or B&W) at unprecedented speeds and quality.
